On the Weight-loss Wagon Again

There's a really intense competition going on here between Jamy and myself. Winner of each weigh-in gets to spend $100 on themself and the loser has to chauffeur the winner around until the next weigh-in. For both of us, the money doesn't really motivate us because we share the same account, but driving each other around calls for a fair play! All I know is that I need to work extra hard because Jamy does not play. I find it funny that for a guy who loves cars, he sure hates driving it!!

We just started on January 15th and being that we only have two weeks before the weigh-in (at the end of each month), the pot is only $50 but driving remains the same. Jamy has already lossed 7 lbs thus far. It's an official week on Sunday morning, and for a week's worth of work it's not bad at all. This is a lot of water weight that we're losing I'm sure. In case you're curious, Jamy and I are following the DASH diet.

Week #1 Recap:

Week one of two of phase one has been very difficult for me personally. I have always been able to eat whatever whenever and now that I can't my body is experiencing withdrawals. Phase one calls for no sugar and no carbs of any kind. My staples has always been Coke and chocolates and now that I can't I am so lost. It's gotten a little easier now that the pounds are slowly shredding off. I forgot that I was on a diet on Wednesday and ate a chocolate kiss because Jamy handed it to me. He's so evil! On Thursday I realized I became very impatient. Everything got on my nerves. On  Friday, I had two gulp of coke and a slice of buttered white bread. The struggle was so real and I had to re-learn self control. I realized this week that I had none, hence the weight gain. The numbers are embarrassing but this year I'm finally in the right mind and believe if there's ever going to be a physical change, this is going to be that year! I'm excited for where this journey will take us. With a blink of an eye and week 1 is already over. Below are the stats for me.

1/15: 184.1 lbs (How did I get here?)
1/16: 182.1 lbs (-2 lbs)
1/17: 180.8 lbs (-1.3 lbs)
1/18: 180.3 lbs (-.5 lbs)
1/19: 180.9 lbs (+.6 lbs b/c we had hot pot)
1/20: 179.7 lbs (-1.2 lbs)
1/21: 177.7 lbs (-2 lbs)

Total weight-loss: 6.4 lbs.
