Happy September!

When I was little, I thought it would be cooler by September! I don't know what led me to believe in this lie! It's hot as ever out there still. Regardless, my heart usually always get a little bit more giddy around this time of the year because I know that I'm only a quarter away from the best time of the year! That's right, Christmas is right around the corner!!! I can't wait to wrap gifts and decorate this place. Until then, I'm happy it's September!

 On the contrary, we have been getting one or two visitors lately. In fact, they party up a storm when we are not home. I know this because I come home to find their little marks all over my house! Yes, I'm talking about rats! I was fortunate enough to run into one the other night! I jumped on my bed and the little girl in me screamed like there's no tomorrow! Still fighting to get rid of 'em! Probably tomorrow, my husband and I will go get some rat poison. I imagine they are just as afraid of us as we are of them and while I can empathize with them (since we are getting poison), I'm just too afraid to keep living this way! LOL :/ need to exterminate them ASAP!!

Oh yes, I finally went grocery shopping earlier today. My husband and I didn't shop for a while because we were trying to eat everything we have accumulated first. This led to a few days without any meat! I went two days without meat and lost 4 lbs! Of course, I mainly ate the greens my mother kindly provided for my little household. I am so  thankful for her unending love! This evening we had seafood soup and it really hit the spot! I just know I may have gained a few pounds back but at last it's not red meat! The soup was delicious! Speaking of weight loss though, I have made a list of "prizes" to help motivate me. My first prize is a paint set. I really want to take a dab into painting. I will update you when I get to reward myself! :) I'm excited!!

By the way, Happy early Labor Day! I'm happy because I get a day off as all Americans do, but you have no idea! I am out of PTO so a day off for me REALLY means something! hahahahaha Good night, world!
