Sunday morning brunch was fantastic all because of this little girl! She is the cutest and most darnest thing I've seen all weekend long! She is an excellent entertainer! Here's a bonus: She cleans! :P Well, I mean, she tries to. Her name is Ashley Rose and she's our little cousin. I sure do miss her already, but I'll be seeing her this weekend as they are all coming down yet for another funeral. Speaking of funeral, I felt like our trip up to NC was incomplete in some way because we only attended the funeral service once and in that one time that we did attend, we were super late. Let's just say we made it right in time for the sermon. That's awful! =S We attended the funeral because this guy was the father of one of our Hang aunt. However, I was surprised to see many Georgians there. I didn't know they were all related to the guy too! What a small world we all live in! The only person that I seem to not be related to is my husband. Oh wait, never mind. My cousin married my husband's uncle (which I didn't even know about it until after we already started dating) and then my other cousin married my husband's cousin too (after we were already married). I give up, everyone is related to everyone else! Here's our host family for the weekend on the right. We were rolling out and they waved. See you soon. God bless to all! <>< -PSYHAAMWednesday, June 6, 2012
Weekend Away
We left town around 6:30 PM and when we got closer to NC, it was already getting pretty dark as you can tell by the picture to the left. The sun made way for the moon and life away from home was starting to kick in. Despite the constant indecisiveness of everyone, our trip couldn't have been better! It was a lovely stay for all of us and our hosts were very welcoming and full of warmth! Coming back from our Hibachi dinner, I was able to snap this quick shot to the right which resembled "fields of gold". It is a song that I dedicated to my husband many months back. The original version is good, but I just simply love Eva Cassidy's version. Her voice is soothing in every way! Anyway, after Hibachi, our uncle was able to convince our dad to stay another night so we did. The elders left to the funeral (the core reason for our trip up north) and the picture below depict what we did while they were away. Yes, we took a walk to another kind of field. Behind the rice patties is a creek and we went there to play in it, but the summers been hot and the water was low. There was nothing there but muddy water so here are the kiddos below making that long walk back up to the village. I must say walking down the hill was one thing, but walking up that hill is another! It was a killer! Also, simply cause we were all out of shape!
